We finally *think* that we found a Hague Accredited home study agency in PA that can work with us. Once we get the home study, we can begin our grant writing in earnest.
A few years ago, I had a reoccurring dream of my maternal grandmother bringing Kevin and I another daughter. In my dream, my grandmother even told me our daughter's name and thanked us for naming our child after her. We have been blessed and happy with our two children and never thought that third child we always wanted would come.
Kevin and I were shocked to get a message from South Korea informing us that they have a little girl for us. She matched a profile that we had set up before we even adopted our first child. We received a file of her social and medical history on June 20, which included the cost. We initially said no because we could not afford another adoption. The US agency contacted us again to let us know that we could use grants and funding to help with the cost. They encouraged us to move forward.
After speaking with our parents and children, and much discussion, we have decided to take the chance. We will spend the next few months doing paperwork for our government and domestic adoption agency, the South Korean government and adoption agency, and grants. We started this campaign to demonstrate the support of our family, friends and community.
We hope to travel to South Korea in about 18 months (Winter, 2015) to bring home our beautiful girl . She will turn 1 on July 21. She is very healthy, but has a repaired cleft lip. Her Korean name is DanAh. In keeping with adoption and family tradition, we will keep this as her middle name.
Feel free to pass along the information. We welcome all support!
